If you know me at all then you know that cheerleading is a huge part of my life. From sun-up to sun-down, I am doing something cheer-related. You also may know that I first learned to tumble in my grandmother’s back yard. And that I was turned on to cheerleading when one of the high school cheerleaders saw me flippin at the bus stop. And the rest was history...
My cheerleading career started at D.H. Conley High School. As a Viking cheerleader our team competed and became Conference Champions and State Champions. I was announced cheerleader of the year! The next year I began cheering at EC CATS. Those years were fun! I learned a lot about teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
I shared some of my first college cheerleading experiences with the 49ers of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I had such a great time in Charlotte. The UNCC cheerleading program had a strong reputation at the NCA's College Nationals Cheer & Dance Competition in Daytona Beach, Fl. For three years I competed with the 49ers against some of the greatest cheer squads from across the nation. And each year we placed top 5! Also while in Charlotte, I had the pleasure of cheering professionally for Carolina’s NBA team, The Charlotte Bobcats! Rally Cats cheerleading was a thrilling opportunity to meet celebrities, sign autographs, and smile for cameras! AND I GOT PAID, HOLLA!!!
I continued my education at East Carolina University where I served as Captain during my senior year. I experienced some of the most amazing cheer moments of my life at ECU. Such as winning first place at the Cheer Ltd. National Championship, and our Pirate football team winning the conference tournament championship game....
BACK TO BACK!!!
On May 7th, 2010, I graduated from East Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Now that my "school spirit" days are over you can find me at various UCA summer camps actin' crazy or training the future cheerleaders of Greenville.
In the spring of 2010 I auditioned and landed a spot on America's next big musical: BRING IT ON! In December 2010 we headed down to Atlanta to present our show to the world for the very first time. After the ATL shows, we hit the road for our huge North American tour. In May 2012, Bring It On announced its Broadway debut for summer/fall '12 at the St. James Theater in New York City. We are thrilled to be taking our show to the big apple! Check my "Bring It On" page for more details!
